Join us for Anna Maria Island’s 12th year of of artsHOP

Join us on Anna Maria Island for Cultural Connection’s 12th year of of artsHOP.  This is an annual island wide celebration of arts, culture and heritage on Anna Maria Island. This free event takes place over 2 weekends on November 2nd-4th & 9th-11th, 2018. Free events include art displays and gallery walks, live music, workshops, local cuisine, art sales, beach markets and more! It will also feature Anna Maria Island’s Community Chorus and Orchestra’s annual “Symphony on the Sand” as well as the Island Players of Anna Maria Island theater productions. (Ticket purchases apply to “Symphony on the Sand” and Island Players productions.)

artsHOP Event Details

Friday, November 2nd: City of Bradenton Beach art walk from 5:30-8pm. Travel to local stores along historic Bridge Street to see beautiful local artist productions including photography, painting, hand made jewelry, sculpture, live music and more. During artsHop we’ll be offering $5.00 Off Segway and Pedicab Tours with proof of purchase from any of the artsHop participating vendors.

Saturday, November 3rd: City of Anna Maria art walk from 1-4pm. Visit many local shops, galleries and our very own Anna Maria Historic Society museum on historic Pine Avenue. Live music will be featured as you meet with local artists and shop owners to learn about the local artwork and heritage of AMI.

Saturday, November 3rd: America Recycles Day at Sandblast starts at 9am and is an event that draws attention to our beautiful Anna Maria Island Beaches as local schools, students and artists create dramatic sand sculptures. Come early and start the day on the beach and then travel to the City of Anna Maria for the art-walk beginning at 1pm.

Sunday, November 4th: Coquina Beach Market on Coquina Beach from 10am-4pm featuring arts and crafts, live music and much more.

Friday, November 9th: City of Holmes Beach art walk from 5:30-8pm. Shops, galleries throughout Holmes Beach and Waterline Marina Resort will be featuring local art demonstrations, local art, live music and more. Basket Raffle Prize drawings will be held at the Ugly Grouper starting at 8pm.

Saturday, November 10th: The Annual Symphony on the Sand brought to you by Anna Maria Island Community Chorus and Orchestra will be presenting a musical symphony on the beach which also features fine dining on the beach for ticket holders. Tickets on sale at www.symphonyonthesand.com

Sunday, November 11th: Coquina Beach Market on Coquina Beach continues.

November 8th-18th: Island Players presents its theatrical production, “Baggage”. Tickets can be purchased and information found at www.theislandplayers.org

All art walks will feature raffle ticket sales and opportunities to purchase “Follow the Flock” birds that were hand painted by local artists and residents This beautiful flock of carved wooden Skimmer birds, donated to us by AMI Turtle Watch and Shorebird Monitoring (AMITW) and then painted by locals, will travel to all 3 cities and will be featured at a particular participating shop, museum or gallery in each city. Visitors will have an opportunity to purchase these beautiful birds and all proceeds from the purchase will be donated to AMITW. Music provided in all 3 cities by Cultural Connection’s event Music Sponsor, The Ugly Grouper. Check out their advertising in the AMI Sun, Bradenton Herald, and A.M.
